The Devil's Island

A$830.00

The story behind this one started a year ago thinking about how Devils were once wild on the mainland of Australia but now are only found wild in Tasmania. At the time I had to put it aside while I worked on my solo show that focused on Logan animals.

It is called "The Devil's Island" with my Devil riding the back of a Long-necked turtle. You have to wonder is he making his way back to the mainland thanks to his reptilian transport.

I finished it earlier this month after it was on hold for so long, and it is pretty ironic that wild Tasmanian devils have just been born on the mainland of Australia for the first time in 3,000 years.

About me

Inspired by my love of animals, I use ink, oils and watercolours to create detailed works that explore the relationships between species and their changing habitats.

By combining my naturalist style, quirky compositions and pairing animals who don’t coexist, I invite people to learn more about vulnerable species and do more to protect them.
