Swiftly Sweetly

A$1,900.00

Measuring a generous size, this stunning artwork demands attention and becomes a focal point in any space. The wooden panel adds a touch of warmth and texture, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and creating a seamless blend between the natural subject and its artistic representation.

Less than 300 swift parrots remain in the wild and they are listed as critically endangered on the IUCN Redlist.

When composing this piece I wanted to highlight the parrot as an innocent bystander to the impacts that are threatening its species. Predation from introduced species, habitat loss and global warming are the main concerns that are causing a decline in their numbers.

I do wonder if this amazing parrot will be around for much longer.

Oil Paint on a wooden panel, framed in a Victorian oak float frame.
Measuring 100 x 50cm
Varnished and ready to hang. Comes with a certificate of authenticity

About me

Inspired by my love of animals, I use ink, oils and watercolours to create detailed works that explore the relationships between species and their changing habitats.

By combining my naturalist style, quirky compositions and pairing animals who don’t coexist, I invite people to learn more about vulnerable species and do more to protect them.
