It was a bit of a challenge taking a reference photo of a koala AWAKE, I had to wait for one of the keepers at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to rustle some fresh gum leaves to wake him from his slumber. I do wonder what koalas dream about whilst they sleep most of the day. Probably about the peril their species is under and how their numbers are in decline.

In this drawing, I have a whistling duck and a koala looking toward a better future.

Detail of my favourite bit on every koala, their chin.
